H.Stern in Rio
Hace unas semanas -mientras estaba de visita en Rio de Janeiro- la marca de joyería H.Stern me invitó a un recorrido por su taller ¡me emocionó mucho la idea! me encanta recibir este tipo de invitaciones porque soy muy curiosa (osea metiche) y amo conocer los procesos detrás de las piezas que me gustan, y siempre me consienten muchísimo; Christian Hallot -embajador mundial de la marca- fue el encargado de darme el tour especial por las instalaciones, me sentí como en mi casa (solo que las joyas no eran mías, pequeño detalle).
Durante el recorrido, pude tomar algunas fotos mismas que comparto con ustedes en este post: sin duda alguna existe un arduo proceso detrás de cada una de las joyas de H.Stern -si ya era fan de la marca ahora lo soy mucho más- ‘al apreciar tan de cerca el detrás de cámaras o más bien escaparates’ me di cuenta de todo el trabajo y ‘mano de obra’ que implica la creación de cada una de las piezas, manos especializadas creando verdaderas obras de arte.
Algunos meses atrás, les platiqué un poco de los inicios de la marca ¿recuerdan? (si no lo recuerdan pueden dar click aquí y aquí), lo que no me queda duda es que H.Stern - por más de 50 años - ha sabido mantenerse fiel a sus valores, sin dejar de lado el enfoque moderno y vanguardista de sus piezas, y es que la marca constantemente busca dar un giro a la inspiración que motiva cada una de las colecciones y mostrar a sus clientes -y al público en general- joyas verdaderamente únicas y de calidad; por ejemplo, Christian me mostró un anillo -con al rededor de 34 topacios- que está inspirado en las gotas de sudor de las bailarinas de ballet, el cual cae melodiosamente a la par de sus delicados movimientos y que adquiere diferentes tonalidades de acuerdo al movimiento de las luces del escenario ¡increíble y majestuoso! La marca ha hecho muchas colaboraciones especiales con diferentes personajes desde arquitectos -como Oscar Niemeyer- hasta diseñadores, como la talentosa Diane Von Furstenberg, otra consentida de su servidora.
La buena noticia, es que si visitan Rio también podrán hacer el recorrido especial por el taller/museo que se encuentra dentro de las oficinas globales de H.Stern en donde por medio de diferentes ‘pasos y con la ayuda de un audio-guía’ podrán admirar y disfrutar de todo el proceso que guarda cada una de las joyas: desde la selección y tratamiento de las piedras -dentro del taller gemológico-, hasta el diseño de las mismas ¡es muy interesante! También podrán admirar la colección más grande de turmalinas del mundo, las hay en todos colores y tamaños, es muy hermosa.

A few weeks ago while visiting Rio de Janeiro, H.Stern invited me to a private tour inside their headquarters, I was very excited! I love receiving such -special- invitations because I'm curious (or nosy, as you wish) and I -also- love to learn all about the processes behind the pieces that I like and wear; Christian Hallot, global brand ambassador for H.Stern gave me the workshop tour, I felt at home (except nothing was really mine).
During the tour, I could take some pictures to share them with you: there is certainly an arduous process behind each H.Stern piece, I was already a groupie of the brand, but know, I am the biggest fan, because I was able to take an up close and personal look to the 'behind the scenes' process, and realized all the hard work and ‘hand labor' that implies the creation of each one of the pieces: specialized hands creating a work of art.
A couple of months ago, I wrote about the brand’s history, remember? (if you can’t remember you can click here and here to take a look to both posts); no doubt H.Stern - for over 50 years - has kept true to it's values, without neglecting the modern and innovative approach of their pieces, the brand is constantly looking for ‘out of the box’ inspiration that motivates every single collection, to offer their customers, unique and high-quality pieces of jewelry; for example, Christian showed me a ring -with around 34 topaz stones- inspired by the sweat of ballet dancers, which falls harmoniously as they delicately move on stage, and that takes different hues according to the lights, awesome, right? The brand has made many special edition collections and partnerships with different characters, such as architects like Oscar Niemeyer and talented fashion designers like Diane Von Furstenberg.
The good news is that if you visit Rio you can also make a tour around the workshop/museum located within the global H.Stern offices: through different steps and with the help of an audio guide, you will admire and enjoy the whole process: from the selection and treatment of the stones -at the gemological studio- to the design and assembly of the pieces, it’s beyond interesting! You will also be able to see the largest collection of tourmalines in the world, you can spot almost any color and size, breathtaking!
