It has been a long time since the last "shoe of the week" post ... I’m sorry about the massive delay regarding my shoe crushes. I present you my new Valentino booties, I found them on Las Vegas last weekend. Of course it was love at first sight... just look at them, they are per-fect. I particularly like Valentino shoes, they have things of both worlds: they are very comfortable and beautiful at the same time. This brand has one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever tried, like I can walk on Valentino shoes for miles and miles without complaining, their mold is really good and the quality over de top; it’s nice to have comfy and nice shoes at the same time (for a change). Yayoi Kusama is a talented and -very- famous japanese sculptress, painter and novelist that uses polka dots in different colors and sizes to create art. Louis Vuitton has launched a special edition collection with the collaboration of Kusama and Marc Jacobs -creative director of LV- were shoes, clothing, bags and iconic accessories of the brand are the perfect canvas for her art work. Under the statement “cover yourself in dots” Vuitton gives their consumers 64 unique collection pieces that honor art, fashion and their indisputable bond. Christian Louboutin launched a capsule collection to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his brand. The capsule consists in 20 of his favorite models -one for each year- and six exclusive handbags. He also published a book with the young history of his brand, pictures and histories of his most important creations, sketches, personal pictures and a quite interesting interview. This model is the recreation of the one he originally designed for his 92-93 fall/winter collection. Christian claims that he owes his iconic red sole to this shoe. The history is -as most of the times- a coincidence, or maybe just fate. In this post, I wanted to show you my new Zara sandals. Surprisingly they are very comfortable, I liked the color combination, it’s different but at the same time accurate and wearable. You can match them with a nice dress or a pair of jeans and a basic t shirt. I think I liked them because they are similiar to some of the shoes I saw on the Diane Von Furstenberg, Alexander Wang, Givenchy, Chloé, Jimmy Choo and Reed Krakoff SS12 runways. Zara, as we all know has the incredible ability - from season to season- to clone and reproduce must (ok, all) of the trendiest pieces from the top designers. I have to start this post by making two huge statements: first, it was a triumph to find this pair of shoes (they were the only pair at the store destined to the mannequin displayed at the apparel); Second, I don’t know how I will wear this beauties, but I knew I had to own them.
