Desert Flower

Desert Flower

With this post I guess I’m joining the “floral trouser trend club"; there are a lot of mixed opinions around it: some people like them while others hate them arguing that they are  granny like and not flattering at all. The fact is that many brands are betting on this trend, (you can find floral pants and trousers almost everywhere!) it might be ephemeral but I like it and I’m planning to enjoy it while it lasts.  What are your thoughts around it? Y ust...

Shoe Of The Week: Zara Snake Print Sandals

Shoe Of The Week: Zara Snake Print Sandals

In this post, I wanted to show you my new Zara sandals. Surprisingly they are very comfortable, I liked the color combination, it’s different but at the same time accurate and wearable. You can match them with a nice dress or a pair of jeans and a basic t shirt.  I think I liked them because they are similiar to some of the shoes I saw on the Diane Von Furstenberg, Alexander Wang, Givenchy, Chloé, Jimmy Choo and Reed Krakoff SS12 runways. Zara, as we all know has the incredible ability - from season to season- to clone and reproduce must (ok, all) of the trendiest pieces from the top designers. It’s really amazing the skill this emporium has to re create the trends and sell them (as water in the dessert) at “accessible” prices all around the world. It’s difficult to visit one of these stores and leave empty handed (at least I can’t); the displays are really attractive and you always “manage to find” something for your wardrobe that you were “looking for”. For me, this ability is th...

All The Pretty Prints

All The Pretty Prints

Since I came back from New York my weeks have been crazy.... (by the way I’m sorry for the lack of posts these days) it seams that the 24 hours of a day are not enough; I’m happy for all the exciting projects though. I wanted to show you how I wore my Phillip Lim trousers last week, the print is beautiful, trendy, and versatile. I wasn’t sure to combine neons and pastels for this outfit, but I’m extremely pleased with the final result. I see a “ print mania “ on the way for the season; blouses, skirts, trousers and blazers will be invaded with maxi flowers, vivid motives and wild prints... I just can’t wait.  It's almost Spring, but Mexico City has been really, really hot the past few weeks  as if we were on summer. I enjoy a lot this kind of weather, it inspires me and it's easy going.  xx, Gina  Desde que regresé de Nueva York la verdad es que he tenido semanas de locura (por cierto lamento mucho la escasez de posts durante los últimos días), aparentemente 24 hora...

Shoe of the Week: Prada Flaming Heels

Shoe of the Week: Prada Flaming Heels

I have to start this post by making two huge statements: first, it was a triumph to find this pair of shoes (they were the only pair at the store destined to the mannequin displayed at the apparel); Second, I don’t know how I will wear this beauties, but I knew I had to own them. While I was in NYC I didn’t have much time to shop nor visit the city, but I knew that the minute I had some spare time I had to look for the Prada "flame" shoes I saw on the SS12 runway. They are statement shoes, I mean -just to start- they have green flaming heels. Of course it will get tricky when I wear them (they are definitely eye catching) but as a “shoe collector” I am (it´s my new nickname so I don’t feel such a shoe freak) I knew I had to own them (insert your “you have to go to therapy comment” here) Who else can manage to combine in a successful way cars, sweetness, flaming heels, ladylike dressing  and jewlery in a women’s collection other than Miuccia Prada? This shoe collection has awa...

Adolfo Sanchez SS 2012

Adolfo Sanchez SS 2012

Adolfo Sanchez is a talented, fashion designer that started his first collection back in 2006. With a relatively short career in the fashion industry, Adolfo has quickly climbed into the taste of celebrities and A-listers with his amazing taste and unique creations. This young designer claims that he finds inspiration everywhere and his designs evolve from a collection of personal experiences and visuals. With his designs he dares women to be strong and different. I'm in love with the Adolfo Sanchez Spring Summer Collection, the Apri Rosi dress is just a lace dream come true with its unexpected back and a colorful neckline. The Sueli Verdi and Rosi pants, the Mel Arci top, the Secri Torri and Dobli Noir skirts with the Puri Plata and Arci tops are among my favorite pieces of this collection. Whether you already have an amazing idea in mind or just need a stunning piece, Adolfo also constructs bespoke pieces that are 100% personalized with unique designs, fabrics and details. How c...
