Para la primavera de 1992 Azzedine Alaïa creó una colección muy singular: sus piezas, a pesar de que eran los noventa, parecían hacer honor a la década de los ochenta y a los ajustados corsés que usaba la realeza de hace dos siglos. El diseñador se enfocó en resaltar la silueta femenina con sus creaciones, al añadirles cinturones de piel, telas flexibles y un nuevo material que resultó de la mezcla de nylon, rayón y carbón. Todos los looks de Alaïa eran (y son) muy atrevidos. La buena noticia es que ahora es posible volver a ver los atuendos que creó el tunecino, pero no sobre la pasarela. Una nueva exposición se acaba de abrir en París, para celebrar la vida del creativo en la Couture Week. The Secret Alchemy of a Collection está en la sede del diseñador, en el distrito de Marais —hasta el 6 de enero del próximo año— y se encuentra enfocada en la primera colección que él creó tras mudarse ahí en 1991.
