Horas antes de la presentación estuve ‘backstage’ con MAC COSMETICS para poder apreciar lo que veríamos después en pasarela. El maquillaje para las cuatro presentaciones estuvo a cargo de la 'Senior Artist' Monica Godínez de MAC y el peinado corrió a cargo de Redken. En cuanto a maquillaje, las cuatro propuestas se basaron en piel muy natural, de la mano con lo que les platiqué que vi en las pasarelas de Nueva York, Milán y Paris; Piel casi desnuda, perfilada ligeramente, con acentos de gloss o bronzer en el área de cien y pómulos, complementada con labios nude, cejas abundantes y poco énfasis en pestañas. For the first time, ‘Opening Ceremony’ presents a show during Fashion Week New York. The runway took place at the iconic Pier 57 along the Hudson River. Opening Ceremony, is a concept store funded by Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, both designers also work at Kenzo; high expectations are set on them: The Kenzo collections have been among the favorite of the fashionistas, photographers, editors, bloggers and celebrities (they gave another meaning to word sweatshirts! for example). The collection has urban vibe and streetstyle influences, it’s made up of interesting prints and vibrant colors, asymmetric cuts and relaxed silhouettes. The makeup was made by the Sephora Pro Team and the lead makeup artist was Val Garland . I interviewed Val and asked her... What makeup trends she forecasted for the SS14 season? She told me that for her, the must important trend is: skin “... the idea is that the skin looks natural yet glowy: with a semi-mat texture...” she concluded. To achieve this look, Val suggests to contour the face really well, “.... bronzers are the key elements here”, and of course a good angled brush, such as the ones Sephora has, paired with a full/fat brush to apply loose powder.
