Christian Cota Fall Winter 2012 Collection is breath taking. The show took place in the Standard Hotel located in one of the most hip a cool neighborhoods in NYC: The Meatpacking District.
Seventeen looks were displayed, all of them recreating the story of an American girl that gets lost in Mexico and in her way through this country, she fells in love with the culture. Rich textures, deep colors, fur and exceptional handcrafted embroideries from Mexican artisans are the highlights of this collection.
I really enjoyed this show, everything was very coherent and synchronized, the colored pieces and the mixture of fur and embroideries are my favorite part. I also liked (a lot actually) the make up and hair; natural an yet trendy. All the pieces are very wearable but with distinctive touches that make them one of a kind. With this collection Christian Cota gives artistic options to modern woman that want to add a warm touch to their wardrobe. I think this collection is one more triumph for this young and talented Mexican designer.

La colección Otoño Invierno 2012 de Christian Cota me dejo sin aliento. El show tuvo lugar en el Standard Hotel, ubicado en uno de los vecindarios más cool de Nueva York: The Meatpacking District. Diecisiete looks fueron presentados, todos recreaban la historia de una niña Americana que se pierde en México y en su viaje por este país se enamora de su rica cultura. Lujosas texturas, colores otoñales profundos, pieles y bordados coloridos hechos a mano por artesanos Mexicanos, son los detalles clave de esta colección.
Realmente disfruté esta presentación, todo me pareció muy coherente y sincronizado, las piezas coloridas y la fusión de pieles con bordados Mexicanos fueron mi parte favorita. También me encantó el maquillaje y los peinados que se utilizaron; naturales pero a la vez en tendencia. Todas las piezas de esta colección son muy usables pero al mismo tiempo tienen ese toque que las hace especiales y únicas. Christian Cota, brinda maravillosas opciones a las mujeres modernas que quieren añadir un toque de calidez a su guardaropa. Creo que esta colección es un éxito más de este joven y talentoso diseñador Mexicano.
¿Qué opinan ustedes?
Pd. Me estoy congelando en Nueva York (en la mañana cuando iba rumbo al desfile de hecho estaba nevando) y con amenazas severas de gripa... así que por hoy, no me iré de fiesta solo descanso, té y medicina.
