NYFW: My interview with Tommy Hilfiger

‘His love for Carlifornia’ That’s how everything started around the Tommy Hilfiger’s SS14 collection. I was lucky enough to be backstage after the show last september during NYFW, and of course, I was able to interview this famous designer on a ‘one on one’ chat were we talked about all the meeting points of his collection. ‘Westcoasting’ it’s the verb that defines the collection and that blends a lot of Tommy’s favorites: Malibu, the beach, surfing and sports; The collection suitably mixes traditional materials such as cotton with the newest technologies such as 'laser cut’ pieces that resemble wetsuits and beach items that can also be worn at the city: an endless summer!

I don’t know if you remember, but I told you about this amazing pieces a couple of weeks ago while I was in New York (click here if you want to see that post). I leave you with the video interview, plus a couple of pictures I took at TH showroom in Paris while the collection was in town and I was too!

As always I seek to share closeup pictures, that show the small details that aren’t easily perceived on the runway pictures and magazine editorials, it’s nice that through my eyes you can know more about the collections and their designers.

‘Su amor por California’ Así comienza la 'historia' de Tommy Hilfiger con su más reciente colección Primavera/Verano 2014. Tuve el gusto de estar backstage durante la pasada edición de Fashion Week Nueva York y hacerle una entrevista ‘uno a uno’ a este reconocido diseñador quien de viva voz me platicó sobre las aristas más importantes que componen esta colección. 'Westcoasting' es el verbo creado que describe la colección y que conjuga los 'temas' favoritos de Tommy: Malibú, el surf, los deportes y la playa; La colección es mezcla materiales tradicionales tales como el algodón, con tecnología de punta como las piezas cortadas con láser para crear prendas poco convencionales que se asemejan a trajes de buzo y artículos de playa que perfectamente pueden ser utilizadas en la ciudad ¡la dicha de tener un verano eterno!

No sé si lo recuerdan, pero les conté un poco de estas piezas hace un par de semanas mientras cubría la semana de la moda en NY (click aquí si quieren ver ese post). Les dejo el video de la entrevista, más una serie de fotografías que tomé en el showroom de la marca en Paris... aprovechando que la colección se encontraba de ‘visita’ mientras yo estaba en esta ciudad.

Como siempre me encanta dejarles fotos de los detalles, aquellos que son difíciles de apreciar en las fotos de pasarela y editoriales publicadas... me gusta compartir con ustedes las vivencias que tengo y que a través de mis ojos conozcan un poco más de las piezas y sus diseñadores.
