Diario de Fashion Week: Parte II
Backstage: Thakoon Fall 2014
Vibrant, colorful and with amazing floral accents was Thakoon’s FW14 collection, personally, Thakoon is a brand that drives me crazy! and this season was no exception as the designer Thakoon Panichgul strives to surprise us with unexpected looks mixing the feminine with the masculine, neutral colors with vibrant ones, casual and formal wear layered in interesting forms and combos (loved the look which mixes a dark blue business suit with a puffy jacket with orange accents), such as silk floral dresses with colorful 'mini' ponchos that covered only the shoulders and knitted sweaters. I was backstage at the show and I was able to take a look at the clothes that we will see later on the catwalk, plus I had the opportunity to interview the International Makeup Artist for NARS Diane Kendal who explained me her inspiration and motives to create the makeup look for the catwalk of Panichgul. Kendal tried to project the spontaneity of looks from Thakoon, tuned with the desig...
Backstage: Tibi Fall 2014
Tibi’s collection for ' Fall 2014 ' represents the intersection of the pastoral and the urban, the countryside and the city; garments are inspired by the natural beauty of the ‘rural scene’ and the path that takes you to the wonderful city where both concepts fail to bind to be able to represent a round collection were the materials of clothing (including shoes) are very consistent with the concept that Amy Smilovic (founder and creative director of the brand) aims to talk for the upcoming fall season. Makeup was done by the Bobbi Brown team, and expresses the clean and natural feel of the country side with a beautiful, illuminated and fresh skin, paired with natural eyes subtly outlined (with Long Wear Gel Eyeliner Sepia Bobbi Brown) and vigorous dramatic rough lips with perfectly groomed and strong eyebrows. Obviously my favorite part of the beauty look were the lips, -Kim Soane- International Makeup Artist for Bobbi Brown used 'Port' color, which might look a lit...
Visual Diary: Cushine Et Ochs FW14
‘The western romanticism combined with the city-slicking edge’ was the main idea around the autumn-winter collection of Cushnie et Ochs ; Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs sought to represent a sensual -western- woman, without going way to literal on the subject, the clothes were accompanied by a cowboy hats and motifs. The designers played with textures such as velvet, lace, silk and chiffon, leather, neoprene and tulle. The icing on the cake was to spot Karolina Kurkova opening the runway... actually I saw her backstage ( I included some pics of her on my visual diary). Antonio Corral , artistic director for Moroccanoil (and a a personal favorite) was behind the hair look for the catwalk, his intention was to highlight the natural beauty of hair, emphasizing the rich smoothness of healthy hair, healthy and shiny... the natural play of light and shadow. The final result is an elegant and smooth hair, sophisticated -in fact- the idea was to give an option so women can try thi...
