Backstage: Moda Nextel, Puerto Los Cabos
Moda Nextel it’s a Mexican -fashion- platform were national and international designers present their collections, it’s a nicely curated showcase that celebrates fashion and features the beauty of my country. For this season, the event was held in ‘Los Cabos’ (or Cabo) at South Baja California. Five designers presented: Lorena Saravia (Mexico), Gustavo Moscoso (Ecuador),Sivlia Tcherassi (Colombia), Bibhu Mohapatra (India) and Pineda Covallín (Mexico). Las friday I told you that I was running to the airport to take my flight to Cabo to attend this great event; BTW! I came back really happy and pleased not only because I had the chance to visit one of my favorite beaches in Mexico but because I really liked the presentations plus the scenery was magnificent: Wirikuta.
Backstage I had the chance to take some pictures form the ‘beauty process’ of hair and makeup. I interviewed the ‘Senior Artist’ For MAC Cosmetics Beatriz Cisneros who told me that all the designers decided to go with really natural skin and for that she used different ‘mineral’ foundations to contour the face, highlight the models' natural beauty and to achieve a natural and glowy skin that might be compromised if you apply too much powder. All the models backstage were dressed 'head to toe' by Tommy Hilfiger that was one of the sponsors of the event.
The look I enjoyed the most was the one created around Silvia Tcherassi’s collection: the eyebrows disappeared completely with the help of different tones of concealers, at the runway the total look was amazing paired with the stunning gowns and the original hairstyle, of course I will make a post with the pictures I took from the runway and a little review of my favorite looks and top picks!
I think it might be a good idea to recreate in a daily basis the look Beatriz made for Bibhu Mohapatra along with the one presented at the Pineda Covallin and Lorena Saravia’s show, they were natural and harmonic; very wearable for this season as well as next SS. You’ll find the face charts with the products used at the end of this text, I hope you find them useful.

Moda Nextel es una plataforma que presenta diferentes propuestas de diseñadores nacionales e internacionales, una curaduría que celebra la moda y destaca lo mejor de los 'rincones' de mi país. En esta ocasión la cede fue el Puerto de Los Cabos en Baja California Sur y cinco diseñadores mostraron sus colecciones: La Mexicana Lorena Saravia, el Ecuatoriano Gustavo Moscoso, la Colombiana Silvia Tcherassi, el Hindú Bibhu Mohapatra y los Mexicanos de Pineda Covallin. El viernes pasado les platiqué justamente que iba rumbo a este puerto a dicho evento; la verdad es que mi sorpresa fue muy grata y no solo por el placer de visitar Los Cabos, sino por las propuestas presentadas y el hermoso escenario: Wirikuta
En backstage tuve oportunidad de tomar algunas fotos el proceso de los looks de cabello y maquillaje. Entrevisté a la Senior Artist de MAC Cosmetics Beatriz Cisneros quien me platicó que los cinco diseñadores optaron por pieles naturales y para ello se utilizaron bases minerales como lo pueden apreciar en los ‘face charts’ que les adjunto; asegura que no utilizó polvos ya que la piel pierde naturalidad y decidió perfilar el rostro de las modelos con diferentes tonalidades de bases líquidas para lograr un efecto natural y destacar su belleza natural. En backstage todas las modelos vestían accesorios y vestidos de Tommy Hilfiger, quien fue uno de los patrocinadores del evento.
El look que más me gustó por tener una propuesta diferente fue el de Silvia Tcherassi: se desaparecieron por completo las cejas, con ayuda de correctores, y en pasarela el look completo -con las prendas de la diseñadora, más el maquillaje y peinado- se veía espectacular ¡obvio habrá post con fotos de pasarela y mis top picks’! aunque, bien se pueden ir dando una idea con estas fotos que les adelanto.
Creo que un buen look de maquillaje para re crear tanto en esta temporada como en primavera es el que se creo para la pasarela de Pineda Covallin y Lorena Saravia: un rostro armónico, natural y perfilado... si buscan un estilo más natural el de Bibhu Mohapatra es ideal ; Encuentran los face charts con los productos necesarios, al final de este escrito.
