Backstage: Peter Som FALL 2014
Yesterday and today have been very intense days, besides we are struggling with a really cold winter, I even got ‘brain freeze’ yesterday meanwhile I was walking from one show to another... plus, the streets are slippery, thank God I haven’t fell! Actually yesterday André Leon’s chauffeur helped me cross the street... only in New York, only in New York situations like this happen, I love it!
I was backstage at Peter Som, and I had the opportunity to interview the one and only Tom Pecheux -Creative Director for Estée Lauder- (whom you've seen in the blog several times in different -backstage- posts ... New York and Milan). The makeup look is inspired by the 60's and 70's ... is 'an English girl with a modern south of French twist' What I liked about the look is the messy eye, the "dirty" and destroyed texture that gives the extra something of chic, Tom told us that he believes that English girls always manage to look fav even with 'ugly' stuff (he was laughing hard when he said this) therefore the inspiration is based on these girls who always look great with no effort at all; trying to recreate the look of the eye you had the night before with remains of eye liner and mascara from the previous night out, thick lashes a verydeep look; thoughts?

Probablemente ayer y hoy han sido dos de los días más pesados por acá, eso sin olvidar que hace un frío espantoso (ayer se me congeló el cerebro, literal) y el piso está sumamente resbaladizo... obvio ya tuve varios conatos de resbalón, pero hasta ahora sigo libre de caídas. Aunque de hecho ayer, me encontré a André Leon mientras caminaba de un show a otro y su chofer me ayudó a cruzar la calle, estas situaciones solo pasan en Nueva York, definitivamente y ¡me encanta!
Les cuento que estuve en backstage de Peter Som, tuve la oportunidad de entrevistar al simpatiquísimo Tom Pecheux -Director Creativo de Estée Lauder- (a quien ya han visto en el blog varias veces... en diferentes posts de Nueva York y Milán). El look del maquillaje lo desarrolló Tom para MAC Cosmetics y se inspira en los 60’s y 70’s... es ‘una chica inglesa con un toque francés’ Lo que me gustó del look es ese aire desenfadado en los ojos... con una textura ‘sucia’ y destruida que le da ese toque especial y chic; Tom nos contó que para él los Ingleses siempre logran que lo ‘feo’ luzca bonito (entre risas y carcajadas hacía este comentario), y que por ello la inspiración se basa en estas chicas que son naturalmente maravillosas, sin esfuerzo; se trato de recrear ese ojo que queda con residuos de mascara y delineador de la noche anterior de fiesta, pestañas gruesas en una mirada profunda ¿les gusta?
