I had a really crazy day yesterday. I attended the BCBGMAXAZRIA show... I have to tell you that the brand clearly left their comfort zone and presented a collection inspired by the beautiful history and architecture of Istanbul and the eclectic style of the Gypsies of Southern Europe. Dresses and tunics, layered with loose pants, sweaters and oversized jackets... for a 'sportswear' look on a rich blue, white and burgundy color palette. I enjoyed this collection, although I don’t usually respond to this type of looks. After the BCBG show I ran to Candela ’s backstage were I was able to interview Kai Vinson Lead Makeup Artist for Bobbi Brown . He explained to me that for the Candela Fall 2013 show, they tried to achieve a ‘simple and soft’ look with fresh even and glowing skin paired with a subtle pink cheeks and soft matte lips with a heavier emphasis on smoky nude eyes. It’s exciting to access the backstage of a Fashion Show, you can see the complete process and also to take a close look at the clothes and shoes, it's an amazing experience. I’ve been covering several backstage for Fashion Week NY so I’ve decided to share some of the pictures I took at Tibi’s Spring13 Show with you (you can also see more in my twitter account). I really enjoy this brand, actually I have several of their pieces in my wardrobe. The makeup was clean and natural, with minimalistic and relaxed silhouettes. A lot of emphasis on achieving a glowy, flawless and healthy skin; for the eyes no mascara with a touch of dusty blue eyeshadow evoking a fresh yet modern feel. To complement the bright eye Kimberly Soane -Bobbi Brown makeup artist- used matte and neutral lips. Actually I’ve been seeing a lot of this clean and “simple” makeup in other runways... it will be a trend for next spring.
