Backstage: Thakoon Fall 2014
Vibrant, colorful and with amazing floral accents was Thakoon’s FW14 collection, personally, Thakoon is a brand that drives me crazy! and this season was no exception as the designer Thakoon Panichgul strives to surprise us with unexpected looks mixing the feminine with the masculine, neutral colors with vibrant ones, casual and formal wear layered in interesting forms and combos (loved the look which mixes a dark blue business suit with a puffy jacket with orange accents), such as silk floral dresses with colorful 'mini' ponchos that covered only the shoulders and knitted sweaters. I was backstage at the show and I was able to take a look at the clothes that we will see later on the catwalk, plus I had the opportunity to interview the International Makeup Artist for NARS Diane Kendal who explained me her inspiration and motives to create the makeup look for the catwalk of Panichgul.
Kendal tried to project the spontaneity of looks from Thakoon, tuned with the designer's muse, who was a woman who loves Patagonia, that is from North America and comes to New York to shop. The skin was very natural, only using highlighter on the cheekbones, the makeup makes emphasis in the eyes, which were delineated in a 'cat eye' style but in reverse, at the bottom part of the eye -over the lash line- Diane used the NARS Mambo eyeliner and added a mixture of brown and reddish brown eye shadows to create a different effect, natural lips and ready to go! Definitely, a look that we can easily recreate at home!

Vibrante, colorida y con acentos florales, así la colección de Thakoon para otoño invierno, en lo personal es una marca que me vuelve loca ¡me encanta! y esta temporada no fue la excepción ya que el diseñador Panichgul Thakoon se esmera en sorprendernos con salidas inesperadas que mezclan lo femenino con lo masculino, los colores neutros con los encendidos y prendas formales con casuales en interesantes capas de ropa (me encantó la salida en donde mezcla un traje sastre azul marino con una chamarra abullonada con acentos en naranja), tales como los vestidos floreados en seda con pequeños ponchos que cubren únicamente los hombros y sweateres de punto. Estuve backstage en Nueva York y pude dar un vistazo a lo que veríamos después en pasarela, además de tener la oportunidad de entrevistar a la International Makeup Artist para NARS Diane Kendal quien me explico en qué se basó para crear el look de maquillaje para la pasarela de Panichgul.
Kendal trató de proyectar la espontaneidad de los looks de Thakoon, en sintonía con la musa del diseñador, quien era una mujer que ama la Patagonia y viene del Norte de America a Nueva York. La piel fue muy natural, únicamente usando un poco de iluminador en los pómulos; el énfasis del maquillaje se encontraba en los ojos, que fueron delineados estilo ‘cat eye’ pero a la inversa, en la parte inferior del ojo y en la línea inferior de las pestañas, utilizado el delineador Mambo de NARS y remarcado dicho delineado con sombra marrón para crear un efecto diferente, labios al natural y ¡listo! Definitivamente un look que fácilmente podemos recrear en nuestra casa.
